Wang Kena
Founder of Melod Music Education, professional guzheng instructor, committee member of the Guzheng Association Singapore, member of The Musicians’ Society of Singapore and the Sichuan Provincial Guzheng Association. Graduated from the Royal College of Music (UK) and the Central Conservatory of Music (Beijing). She was awarded the Gold Prize in the Guzheng Open Category at the 2012 Singapore National Chinese Music Competition by former Prime Minister Mr. Lee Hsien Loong, who personally presented the trophy and received her in recognition. In 2013, she performed as gold medalist at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts' "Nan Yi Zhi Xing" concert while also winning first prize in the Academy's Chinese Music Concerto Competition. Invited by Singapore Cultural Medallion recipient Mr. Chua Soo Bin, she performed at both the "Light Within Ink: Chua Soo Bin's Portraits of Wu Guanzhong" opening at Old Parliament House (2017) and the National Gallery Singapore's "Truths & Legends" exhibition (2019). As an educator, her students have earned Distinction awards at Singapore Youth Festivals and achieved outstanding results in local and international competitions, for which she has received multiple Distinguished Teacher's Awards.
Han Xingzhi
Music Director
Mr. Han is a Singapore-based violinist, viola instructor, and music educator with over 15 years of teaching and orchestral performance experience. He graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Singapore, with a Bachelor of Music (Performance) in collaboration with the Royal College of Music, London, where he studied under renowned violin pedagogue Rashkovsky Itzhak. As a dedicated educator, Mr. Han has taught violin at several Singapore primary schools, including Shuqun, Northland, Dazhong, Yuhua, and Yew Tee Primary Schools. Since 2015, he has worked as a full-time music instructor, coaching students for ABRSM, Trinity College London, and Chinese music examinations, while preparing ensembles for concerts and competitions.
Alongside teaching, Mr. Han is an active orchestral musician and has performed with organisations including the Singapore Lyric Opera, The Philharmonic Orchestra, Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra, and Kids' Philharmonic@sg. His performance highlights include productions of Carmen, Swan Lake, Romeo & Juliet, and numerous concerts at the Esplanade and Victoria Concert Hall.
Mr. Han has represented Singapore in international cultural
exchanges and performances across Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Japan, South Korea, China, and the United Kingdom, including the Berlin & Singapore Exchange Concert Symphonic Harmony at the Berliner Philharmonie.
In recognition of his contributions to music education, he received the Outstanding Teacher Award (2023) and the Distinguished Instructor Award (2024). Fluent in English and Mandarin, Mr. Han is committed to inspiring young musicians through high-quality music education and performance excellence.
Han Xingzhi
Music Director
Mr. Han Xingzhi graduated from the Royal College of Music in the UK, where he studied under renowned violinist Rashkovsky Itzhak.
Mr. Han is active on both local and international music stages, including the 2024 "Symphonic Harmony" Berlin-Singapore Exchange Concert at the Berlin Philharmonie, the 2023 "Harmony Across the Seas" Korea-Singapore Cultural Exchange Concert, and the 2019 Japan-Singapore Cultural Exchange Concert.
As an outstanding violin educator and orchestral conductor, his students have achieved numerous accolades in both Singaporean and international music competitions. He has also received multiple teaching honors, including the Distinguished Teacher's Award and the Excellent Teacher Award.
